Overview

The GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing is a hydrophilic wound dressing designed to absorb exudate, cover and protect catheter sites. It contains chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG), a well-known antiseptic agent that offers broad spectrum antimicrobial and antifungal activity.
It also provides hemostasis, using the proprietary m-doc™ compound,
to control surface bleeding.

Features and Benefits

3 sizes to select from

Each GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing has a consistent disk diameter of 1" (2.5 cm), and is available in 3 sizes of varying hole diameters (1.5 mm, 4 mm and 7 mm), enabling you to use it for a variety of IV, CVC, PICC and percutaneous devices.

Hemostasis

Wound healing efficacy

The GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing demonstrated a wound healing rate nearly double that of Biopatch™ during in vivo testing.†,1 It also has the sufficient CHG amount to provide antimicrobial protection while not inhibiting wound healing.1

Healing

99.99% reduction in bacteria

In vitro testing showed that the GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing reduces 9 microorganisms by 4 log or 99.99%,
and provides up to 7 days of sustained antimicrobial efficacy within the dressing.*,**2,3

Antimicrobial

Up to 7x less blood loss indicated for surface bleeding

In vivo testing showed that wounds treated with the GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing had up to 7 times less surface blood loss compared to those treated with gauze dressings alone, and significantly reduced time to hemostasis.
