Overview

The PowerLoc™ Safety Infusion Set (SIS) family is designed for accessing the PowerPort™ devices. This combination enables contrast agents to be power-injected into the central venous system.

The product is indicated for the administration of fluids, drugs and blood sampling via a surgically implanted vascular port.

  • Safety feature conforms to current user technique
  • Safety feature covers needlepoint to reduce risk of injury and exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Lower insertion and penetration force than other currently marketed nonsiliconized port access needles

Safety Mechanism

 

As the needle is removed from the port and enters the base of the needle, an orange safety shield rotates over the needle point and the needle locks into place. A tactile feel, an audible click and visual confirmation verifies the lockout for safe removal, transporting and disposal of the PowerLoc™ needle.

All BD Port Access Needles

  • Are non-coring to minimize septum damage
  • Offer optional "Y" injection site for secondary access
  • Are available in a variety of lengths and gauge sizes

Power Injectable

 

  • 19 gauge and 20 gauge needles withstand up to 5 mL/s power injection of contrast media
  • 22 gauge needle withstands up to 2 mL/s power injection of contrast media
  • Power sticker notifies CT tech of power injection capability and CT parameters
