Q. How can I search and submit my resume for a specific job?
A.
  Visit our Job Search section, and follow the user-friendly instructions to search for current opportunities.

Q. What is the best way for me to send a resume to BD?
A.  For the quickest and most thorough consideration for job opportunities at  BD, submit your resume through our online prospect application system – Taleo.

Q. What happens to my resume after I submit it via your website/Taleo?
A. Your resume will be included in our on-line prospect tracking system - Taleo. You will be notified via email when you submit your resume.  If you post for a particular job, you must complete the pre-screening questions on Taleo as part of the process to be considered for that position. You will see the relevant pre-screening questions during your Taleo/on-line application process for a specific position.

Q. What happens if I don’t hear back from BD after submitting my resume (other than receiving the confirmation note from Taleo that my resume was received)?
A.   It is likely that we chose to interview other candidates whose qualifications more closely met the position requirements. Due to the high volume of resumes we receive, we cannot personally respond to every prospect. BD’s recruiters review Taleo on a regular basis for qualified prospects, and your resume will remain available in the Taleo database.

Q. How does the interview process work at BD?
A.
 Selected applicants will meet with some or all of the following: Talent Acquisition associate, Human Resources associate, the hiring manager, a few of his or her peers, and members of senior management, if appropriate.  The interviews are designed for the applicant and BD representatives to learn as much as possible about each other.

College Recruitment

Q. Does BD have any development programs for recent college graduates?
A.
Yes, BD offers several development programs for recent college graduates in the areas of business, information technology and engineering.  Recruitment for these programs takes place during the fall season.  To find out more about these programs, please refer to the University Recruiting page of this website.

Q. How can I find out when BD is recruiting on campus?
A. BD recruits at targeted colleges during the fall and spring sessions. To determine if and when BD is recruiting or conducting an information session/presentation at your school, please contact your school’s career services department.

Q. What type of internship and/or co-op opportunities does BD have?
A.
BD normally has opportunities across many functional areas including:  Business Development, Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing, Quality and Research & Development.

Q. Does BD have a formal internship program?
A. Yes, students who take part in a summer internship at BD will have a variety of  professional, social and networking opportunities.  Interns will be exposed to members of BD’s leadership team and will receive mentorship from key leaders in the businesses within which they work.  Managers will provide mid-term and final evaluations in order to guide and develop professional growth during the summer.

Q. How do I apply for internships or full-time positions at BD?
A. To determine if BD is recruiting for interns or full-time positions at your school, please contact your school’s career services department.  You may also submit your resume through our online prospect application system – Taleo.

Q. Is housing available for summer interns?
A. BD provides assistance to interns in finding appropriate summer housing.  We will guide you to helpful resources and provide the option to stay at apartments on local college campuses. 

Q. How long do internships last?
A.
Summer internships typically last about 12 weeks.
