Astigmatism Correction - Astigmatic Keratotomy
Astigmatic keratotomy (AK) incisions have been used for several years as a means of managing patients with various degrees of astigmatism. However, more recently, the use of more peripheral, limbal relaxing incisions has become the preferred approach. Limbal relaxing incisions provide a lesser degree of correction and therefore, are more forgiving and have greater predictability. Beyond traditional Clear Corneal Cataract surgery, BD products are well suited for use in astigmatic keratotomy. Go to Astigmatism Correction - Astigmatic Keratotomy to learn about the BD products that can be used in creating limbal relaxing incisions.
