(December 28, 2008) --
Each day, five Australians, most of them children, are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) mission is ‘to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research’.
JDRF is the world's leading non-profit contributor to type 1 diabetes research, investing over $1.3billion into diabetes research world-wide over the last four decades. In Australia, JDRF are currently funding over 40 research projects, with a total investment of over $60million.
Every dollar raised will bring us closer to a cure. With this in mind Anthony Jennings as a BD associate with a special passion for Diabetes research, played a part in the JDRF international challenge to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. The challenge was the Ride to Cure Diabetes, a spectacular 160km bike ride held in the Barossa Valley, South Australia in January 2008.
BD through its sponsorship and support has the satisfaction of knowing that we are making a significant contribution to finding a cure for diabetes by raising funds for the best and most promising Australian diabetes research.
